Fall hits the Farm . . .

It's been a year since the 'Farm was established (8-1-16) as we are entering our second Fall season.  The farm has changed in so many ways. We've remodeled and refinished every bedroom in the house,  The walls have all been painted.  Outside, the pasture and barn have improved vastly.  Trees have been fell, cut and burned, fences mended, rebuilt and improved.  We've added a tack and feed room (foal stall) to support our organization of the barn.  It's so refreshing to see our visions come through and make the home we want to have for our family and farm. We can't wait to host some Fall get togethers with friends and family enjoying the crisp fall air off the creek.  Bonfires and chili fill our heads of times laughing and spending time together.

The school year has started up for Cameron and Cole offering many new opportunities and pathways they can take to create a Future Story they can be proud of.  They're activities and roles in Athletics teams have us all reeling to catch up on time together each week. Kelly and Josh are both engaged in Graduate learning and coursework.  It seems to be a situation of "what doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger" for all of the family.  We've all had a touch of a bug or germ that has set us back.  With school, we're all looking forward to Fall break and the Holiday break in December.

Our yearly trip to the Kentucky State Fair yielded an opportunity for Cole to expand his Rabbit Farm.  The addition of two Dutch Rabbits have really got him thinking about Care, support, growth and the future.  Cam is starting his Ag projects and is focusing on Animal care on the farm.  Feeding, grooming, watering and supporting the growth of his Great Dane has lead to think a lot about his future in Agriculture (Game Warden).

For the horses, Fly is really growing a belly on her! (22 Weeks or 154 days into her pregnancy).  She's due around March 13 and we are so excited to see what she will create in a foal.  We're working on names for her foal and are settling toward Twisted Campbell - gender neutral and reflects both pedigrees (Little Man Campbell - Beauty's Taffy Twist).  We are continuing to think about how we can expand the pasture and support the nutrition of all of our horses.  Hay types, stalling, and farm expansion are the current conversations.  We're also looking to find a new home and purpose for our youngest horse, Skyfire.  She's a spunky, energetic and sweet horse who needs a new role and family to grow with.  We know she will do well on any path she takes.

We've also reached out to Kleos' former owner, Donna Chuppe and made contact.  She was so happy to hear about Kleos and has made plans to connect with her soon.  She will also be supporting us with the proper documentation that Kleos needs to carry on her legacy as a racer and broodmare of future successful thoroughbred racehorses.  Kleos inspires us and teaches us a lot about what it will take to enter the Thoroughbred industry.  She will be the one to lead us there and teach us all about it.  After a month of research and studying, we have a few options in sires as well.  We think she will do well with Medal Count (Graded stakes winner) and also Shackleford (Preakness Winner, Breeders Cup placer) and are both great opportunities to burst onto the Thoroughbred scene.  The inspiration to grow and create are always there with us to support and guide us forward.  The possibilities are many!

Our hearts are filled and energized by the thoughts of creating something truly special, unique and authentic.  We're proud to think how we are creating our own story.  A story that others are inspired by. We are humble on the trail forward but dare to dream big and let no one judge us or discourage us from moving forward toward those dreams.
